Biography

Dr. Adel Abusharar is an accomplished academic and professional in accounting and finance, currently serving as the Head of the Accounting & Finance Department at Hebron University in the Palestinian Territories. Born on December 12, 1980, he holds a PhD in Accounting from Université de la Manouba, Tunisia, with a research focus on Corporate Social Responsibility, Tax Avoidance, and Bank Ownership. He also holds a Master’s in Financial and Banking Sciences from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Bethlehem University.

Since 2007, Dr. Abusharar has been a key faculty member at Hebron University, teaching courses in Auditing, Advanced Accounting, and Financial Management. In 2017, he became Head of the Accounting & Finance Department, overseeing academic programs and international projects. He is also a trainer with the Palestinian Association of Certified Public Accountants, conducting workshops on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Before his academic career, Dr. Abusharar worked as a Financial Controller at the Palestinian Ministry of Finance and as an Accountant in Jordan. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has completed professional training in Italy and Palestine. His research interests include Corporate Governance, International Accounting Standards, and Islamic Accounting, and he has published several papers on topics such as Corporate Social Responsibility and budgeting during COVID-19.

Proficient in Arabic and English, Dr. Abusharar is skilled in using Microsoft Office, Stata, and SPSS for data analysis. He continues to contribute to the field through teaching, research, and professional training, shaping the next generation of accountants in the Palestinian Territories and beyond.
