Biography

Associate Professor  in TESOL and Certified IELTS examiner.  Got a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the Ohio State University in 1997.  Obtained herMA from the same university fully funded by a Fulbright scholarship.  Her BA degree in English language and literature was obtained from the University of Jordan.  Currently the Dean of the College and Arts and served as the Chair of the English Department until 2017. Research interests inlcude variables that influence Second Language Acquisition, Learner Strategies, and Utilizing literature in the language classroom.

Academic and Administrative Experience

Teaching various language skills in addition to methodolog and second language acquisition courses at the BA and MA levels.  Suvising MA theses in the field of Applied Linguistics.  Acting as an internal and\or external examiner for MA theses on various topics.

Supervised seven MA theses in the MA program of applied linguistics and the teaching of English.  Topics of theses include language and culture, classroom interaction, question types, learner strategies, writing development, and using technology in the classroom.
