Research: My PhD research activities can be summarized according to the following branches:
Ø Design, analysis and evaluation of efficient algorithms for routing protocols applied in mobile ad-hoc networks. Mainly, protocols used in Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN) and Mobile Computing Devices (MCD) networks.
Ø Exploiting network coding algorithms in data delivery protocols used for ad-hoc and mobile cloud networks. In particular, erasure-coding for data dissemination in mobile clouds.
Ø Real implementation and experimentation of data delivery protocols using wireless resource constrained devices, such as mobile devices and active RFIDs.
My PhD supervisor and co-supervisor are: Prof. Andrea Vitaletti , Prof. Roberto Beraldi respectively. The overall work was documented in my thesis entitled “Data Delivery in Delay Tolerant Networks” http://hdl.handle.net/10805/2399
PhD Courses included:
Computer Networks II, Capacity Planning, Mobile Applications and Cloud Computing, Cryptography and Network Security, Algorithms for Web and Social Networks, Business Processes, Supervisory Control of Discrete-Event Systems, Models and Applications for Network Traffic Engineering
· 2002-2005, M.Sc.
Master In Electronic and Computer Engineering, (81.2%) very good, Al-Quds University.
Research Activity in M.Sc.
My research during my master study concerned speech signal segmentation. In particular, to segment a speech signal into relatively homogeneous sections, the method combines a parametric filter bank with an analysis with the lag-one autocorrelation of the filtered speech signal. A software simulator using MATLAB was developed to demonstrate such methods.
Ø Subjects included:
advanced linear algebra, computing methods, instrumentations, processor’s fundamentals, computer controlled systems, signal and image processing, advanced techniques in data acquisition and soft computing.
Ø Software Technologies used:
JAVA, C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW, CoolEdit, and Orcade.
· 1997-2002, B.Sc.
College of Electronic Engineering, (87.9%) very good, Al-Quds University.
Ø Subjects included:
Courses from Electronic Engineering, courses from mathematics and computer science.
Ø Graduation project:
In the last year of my study I have completed, in a team environment, a project called PCBDM (printed circuit board drilling machine). This project contained two parts, software part (using C++) and hardware part. The overall idea of the project is to build and control a mechanical model in which a drill can move in 3 dimensional environments in order to drill the nodes of a PCB board. This model was driven by a C++ program, which senses the model by sensors in the system and reads all the nodes coordinates from the Orcade file
